This week's letter from Mrs Mayers...

Dear Parents and Carers

Thank you so much for supporting our Red Nose Day fundraising today. The children had a great time during our whole school Red Nose Day Quiz; their favourite round was trying to guess different staff members' faces. I have included these below - can you work them out? 

We had our Rock Steady concert earlier this week and it was fantastic to see the children perform with such energy and enthusiasm! If your child is interested in joining one of our Rock Steady bands, you can find more information about signing up here. 

We have also had lots of exciting trips and workshops this week, including: Yr3's trip to the British Museum, Yr4's Pizza Making with Caterlink and Yr1 & Yr2's Scooter Training! More information about these can be found below.

Next week, is our Science Week and our Book Fair is also open! More information about these events can be found below. I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Brass & Recorder Concert

Friday 28th March 2025 @ 10am

Next week, the children who have been learning brass & recorder instruments will be performing the songs that they have been busy perfecting.

Science Week - Next week!

We have lots of exciting events happening next week for our SWOY Science Week.

  • Laura Tobin Visit (weather scientist & meteorologist)
  • Parents to visit to talk about their jobs (including MRI imaging and being a doctor)
  • Duck eggs arrive 
  • Buddy Time: Marble Runs

This week's Friday Club was... Rapha, Makias, Kamar, Kiki, Apolline and Fergus.

Well done to all of you! You have been recognised for always being ACE and for consistently going 'over and above'.

School Information / Reminders

Easter Eggs for the Foodbank - Next week

We will be collecting Easter Eggs for the Foodbank during the week commencing 24th March 2025. If you are able to donate an Easter Egg, we thank you for your generosity! 

School Uniform 

Please do make sure that you check the school uniform list before you buy or replace any items of clothing.

Key things to remember: 

  • Trainers are NOT uniform 
  • Polo t-shirt: white
  • School shoes: black 
  • Trousers: grey 
  • Skirts: navy 
  • Hairbands: plain black or navy
  • Summer dress: light blue gingham 
  • Tights/socks: plan grey or white

Absence Requests

In August 2024, the DfE published new statutory guidance for improving attendance; this is reflected in our school attendance policy, which you can find here.

Section 5 details guidance on requests for authorised absences. There is limited scope for requests that can be approved so please read this section carefully when submitting a request.

You can submit a request for an authorised absence via the form on our website, which is linked here.

children with clock - freep!kLate children - please ensure your child is in their classroom by 8:55am, ready for the register at 9am. 

Children who arrive in class after 9am will be marked as late.

If you are late, an adult must sign the child/ren in at the main office using the tablet (instructions are below the screen). 

Office staff will collect the children while parents/carers sign them in on the tablet.
