This week's letter from Mrs Mayers...

Dear Parents and Carers

This week, you should have received a letter and topic plan from your child's class teacher to give you some information about the summer term. Please do take the time to read through these as they provide a useful overview of your child's learning for the term. You can find the Summer Letters on our school website here. 

This week we have been blessed with lots of sunshine! Please remember to put suncream on your child and to send them in with a hat on warmer days. I would also like to gently remind parents that all children need to be in the classroom at 9am so that they are ready for the register and their learning. 

Next week, SWOYSA are holding their Spring Disco on Thursday 8th May 2025. Please do join us if you can! SWOYSA are also asking pupils to design a poster for the competition - details for this can be found below. 

I do hope you all have a lovely bank holiday weekend! We will see you back at school on Tuesday next week.

Yr6 SATs Week 

If your child is currently in Yr6, you should have received a letter from Mrs Mayers about arrangements for the upcoming SATs. The SATs are national tests that will take place during the week commencing 12th May 2025. The letter can also be found here. 

Yr6 children are invited to have breakfast in class from 8.15am on: 

  • Monday 12th May 
  • Tuesday 13th May 
  • Wednesday 14th May 
  • Thursday 15th May

We have found that SATs week breakfasts are a lasting memory for our children!

Year 5 & Year 6 Shropshire Residential

There will be a meeting for parents & carers on Thursday 8th May at 8.40-9am in the hall to discuss the plan for the trip and answer any questions.

School Information / Reminders

SWOYSA Poster Competition 

SWOYSA would love for our pupils to design a poster for the Spring Disco. You must include the following information: 

  • Spring disco
  • 5.30-7.30pm
  • Buy your tickets online
  • Prices: £3 per child, £5 for 2 or more siblings
  • Delicious food and drinks available

We look forward to seeing your designs! Please return them by Tuesday 6th May.

Arbor logoArbor Parent App / Arbor Parent Portal

We have emailed all legal guardians with their login information for the Arbor Parent App / Arbor Parent Portal.

Please follow the instructions within the email to access your child/ren's accounts.

We will be moving away from ParentPay and online payment will be made on Arbor. You will also be able to communicate with school and update your contact information if you have a new mobile number, or move house.

Summer Menu from Caterlink

The new summer menu is available for parents & carers to view on our website. 

School Uniform 

Please do make sure that you check the school uniform list before you buy or replace any items of clothing.

Key things to remember: 

  • Trainers are NOT uniform 
  • Polo t-shirt: white
  • School shoes: black 
  • Trousers: grey 
  • Skirts: navy 
  • Hairbands: plain black or navy
  • Summer dress: light blue gingham 
  • Tights/socks: plan grey or white

Absence Requests

In August 2024, the DfE published new statutory guidance for improving attendance; this is reflected in our school attendance policy, which you can find here.

Section 5 details guidance on requests for authorised absences. There is limited scope for requests that can be approved so please read this section carefully when submitting a request.

You can submit a request for an authorised absence via the form on our website, which is linked here.

We had a fantastic first session at Forest School! Over the next three weeks, we'll be diving into naturemaking maps, creating leaf prints, and discovering the amazing plants that grow in our local habitat. We can't wait to explore more.
