Dear Parents and Carers
It was lovely to have the bank holiday weekend last weekend and it has meant that it has felt like a very short week in school this week. Although it has been a short week, it have been a very busy week! We welcomed visitors from the Catholic Schools Inspectorate who commented on how fantastic our children behave and relate to one another. They also recognised what a strong sense of community we have at St William of York. Thank you to everyone who spoke to the Inspection team or completed a survey about our wonderful school!
As you will have heard, this week, we also welcome Pope Leo XIV. Our children have been finding out more about him and they have led some special prayers as he begins his journey leading the church.
I would like to thank SWOYSA for our Spring Disco this week. It was a really successful event and it was great to see so many families joining us. Please do think about joining SWOYSA and volunteering to help at upcoming events.
Next week, is an important week for our Yr6 children as it is the KS2 SATs Week. We are confident that they will do their very best and we wish them luck for the upcoming week. Yr6 children are invited into school for SATs Breakfast from 8.15am Mon-Thurs next week.
We would also like to say 'Congratulations' to our Yr3 children who are making their First Eucharist this weekend! Congratulations to... Una, Seyi, Kostek, Joseph, Malachi, Jude, Bryanna and Favour.
Kind regards
Hayley Mayers (Headteacher)
